Fighter Emergency Program - The Fighter Emergency Program (in German, Jägernotprogramm) was a shift in 1944 by the German air force to halt all production of bombers and shift production to defensive fighters. The program included development of experimental jet aircraft and one fighter featuring vertical takeoff.
Jet aircraft - Jet aircraft are aircraft with jet engines. Contrary to propeller powered aircraft, jet aircraft normally fly at altitudes as high as 10,000 to 15,000 meters.
F-100 Super Sabre - The North American F-100 Super Sabre was a jet fighter aircraft that served with the USAF from 1954 to 1971 and with the ANG until 1979. It was the successor to the F-86 Sabre, the first of the century series of US jet fighters, and the first US fighter capable of supersonic speed in level flight.
Fighter aircraft - A fighter aircraft is a military aircraft designed primarily for attacking other aircraft, as opposed to a bomber, which is designed to attack ground targets, primarily by dropping bombs. Fighters are comparatively small, fast, and highly maneuverable, and have been fitted with increasingly sophisticated tracking and weapons systems to intercept and attack other aircraft.
